((I know you guys don't like a lot of reading, but please give this one a chance. ))
[shadow=maroon,left,300]Welcome to the Looking-Glass Land.
The world on the other side of the mirror.
[/shadow]
You have been summoned by the Priest of the Resistance.
He got a hold of Lewis Carroll's books about Alice, and came to the conclusion that the way to win the war against the- aptly named- Red Queen, was to bring an "Alice" to this world.
Of course to be sure, he had to summoned more than one "Alice".
So now you and your comrades must:
1. Travel across Looking-Glass Land to the Kingdom of Red.
2. Defeat the Red Queen.
3. Find your way home.
[shadow=red,left,300]Looking-Glass Land:[/shadow]
It is important to know, that this it not the Wonderland from Lewis Carroll's Books about Alice's Adventures. This Looking-Glass Land is quite different. Most things here are the opposite of in our world. Some examples would be:
- There are no seasons.
- Slavery is a popular concept.
- Flowers are very large, while Trees or rather small. (for this reason, trees
don't flower before baring fruit.)
- Gladiatorial Arenas have come into their prime.
- Execution is punishment for most things.
- Torture is widely accepted as common practice.
Feel free to come up with other things as you see fit. (I chose these things for interesting plot points)
But for the most part, the physics are the same in the sense that most things are bound to the earth by gravity. (With some exception like the Upside Down City.) Characters in this world will be lighter- giving them the ability to jump higher and move faster than the creatures of Looking-Glass Land.
However! While our world is Ruled by Science, Looking-Glass Land is Ruled by a strange and fickle Magic. (This has it's own category for my own sanity's sake.)
But the most important thing to remember about this place through the rp, is that it is not pleasing to the eye. While certain places may carry the charm of the Gothic era, this does not apply to most places in Looking-Glass Land. Most buildings are rusting or poorly constructed, they look like they wouldn't really stand. The atmosphere in the cities (Especially the Upside Down City) are industrial, gritty, and smoggy. The wild places are dangerous and dark. There are no strait lines, or level surfaces. There is no concept of a perfect circle or square.
(If you want to get a feel for the world, this is the song I was listening to while I was writing this up.)

The Magic of Looking-Glass Land:[/shadow]
It is Dark Magic. There is no Light Magic in this world, all Magic has a negative consequence of using it. Say you used it to turn yourself into a Demon, after using it for a while, you might find it becoming difficult to change back and eventually certain parts of you wouldn't be able to change back at all. The Magic is like a corruption that spreads over time, like a Virus.
You Character cannot have Magic right away. As the rp goes on, your chosen Magic (and it can be anything, as long as it is Dark and has a consiquence) will find your character. You can chose it to find you at any time you want, as long as it's not right out of the gate. Though I'm not opposed to foreshadow of your chosen Magic, like dreams or voices or stuff like that. (Can you tell why I'm saying this? )
Your character does not have to find Magic at all if you chose for them not too. If you want them to remain what is called a "Pure Alice" Then they can just get really wicked with their weapon or something like that. By the way, a Character who finds Magic is called a "Tainted Alice". These are names given by the locals.
[shadow=maroon,left,300]Weapons:[/shadow] (I promise this will be short, I know you don't like a lot of reading)
This is my one rule for Weapons. They have to be things found around the house! Kitchen Knives are a great example. A Fire poker can easily be turned into a spear. Combine house hold objects to make interesting weapons, get creative! So no traditional Swords (If you can find a way to make one by tying or taping things together go for it) No guns. It has to be made out of things you would find in a normal house... or I guess Garage, but I would rather we stay away from Chain Saws. If you really want it, then let me know first, k?
((I'm going to put up a map, and I'm also going to put up profiles for the major characters who are not Rp-ers. ))
((Heads up! This is starting before the map goes up! I had the map in mind when I started it, but certain circumstances lead me to not creating it. So now it's gone and I'll have to start anew with this whole map thing. Don't worry, I still remember a lot of the places, but not all, so it may be a while. Before we have a proper map.))
